Former defender Marcelo lavished praise on Cristiano Ronaldo, stating that the Portuguese superstar is so distinct that he "seems like an alien" due to his talent, professionalism, and desire to win.
Cristiano Ronaldo has long been regarded as one of the greatest players in football history, and according to former teammate Marcelo, the Portuguese superstar is even "so different that he resembles an alien."
Throughout many years of peak performance, Ronaldo has consistently amazed fans with his form and extraordinary records. Since shining at Manchester United, he has won numerous major titles, including his first Champions League victory along with multiple Ballon d'Or awards.
Later, Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid and became the greatest scorer in the history of the Spanish Royal Club. He continued to achieve success at Juventus and is currently playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, while also serving as the leader of the Portuguese national team with a EURO championship and two UEFA Nations League titles.
At 41 years old, Ronaldo shows no signs of stopping. Despite facing injury issues, the Portuguese superstar is still aiming for his sixth World Cup in his career and the goal of scoring 1,000 professional goals, having already surpassed 960 goals.
Speaking about his former teammate at Real Madrid, Marcelo could not hide his admiration. “It was an honor to play alongside Cristiano. He is completely different from the rest: a leader, a tireless worker, and possesses exceptional quality. Many people think Ronaldo is only strong physically, but they are mistaken… he is like an alien,” Marcelo shared.
The former Brazilian defender also mentioned that they share a special synergy on the field because they both grew up from street football. According to Marcelo, Ronaldo always provides useful advice and understands the pressure in every match.
During his time at Real Madrid, Ronaldo and his teammates also had to face Barcelona during the peak era of Pep Guardiola and Lionel Messi. Marcelo admitted that facing Messi at times felt like a "nightmare," but Real Madrid still had the courage to compete thanks to the big stars in their squad.
Currently, Ronaldo still has a contract with Al Nassr until 2027, although his future in Saudi Arabia is subject to many rumors as the superstar is said to have a contract release clause in the near future.
