Manchester United's summer transfer budget revealed at £230 million! Red Devils' Bell resumes individual training, facing competition eager to return.

According to British media "Insider Offside," Sir Jim Ratcliffe has approved spending over £230 million in transfer fees this summer to further upgrade the squad. Ratcliffe's plan is to reclaim the Premier League title before the club's 150th anniversary in 2028, with only two seasons left, time is becoming increasingly urgent.

Last summer, Manchester United primarily invested in strengthening the attack; now the new focus is bolstering the midfield, with slight adjustments also planned for forwards and defenders. This will require substantial funds, as nearly every new midfield player targeted by the club is priced between £80 million and £100 million.

For other positions, Manchester United mainly leans towards reinforcing the left flank, with a left winger and a left-back both rumored to be on the recruitment list. This could pose a more severe challenge for the €40 million "new Bell" Patrick Doku, who is currently recovering from injury.

Doku performed excellently early in Carrick's tenure, scoring consecutively against Manchester City and Arsenal, but unfortunately suffered a serious injury and has been absent. Now, Doku has returned to the Carrington training ground for individual training, marking a new stage in his recovery. The 21-year-old Doku currently has two main goals: one is to quickly return to participate in Denmark's World Cup qualifying European playoff, and the other is to regain a starting position at Manchester United.

Denmark will face North Macedonia in the playoff semifinal on March 27, with the winner competing against the victor of Czech Republic and Ireland for a World Cup ticket. Doku hopes to resume normal training before that to represent the "Fairytale Army" in the pursuit of the USA-Canada-Mexico World Cup.

After that, Doku aims to return to Manchester United's starting lineup for the Premier League match against Leeds United in mid-April. Currently at Manchester United, he is positioned as a left winger, needing to compete with the £62.5 million forward Cunha for a spot. If he wishes to play as a left-back, he must overcome "England's Carlos" Luke Shaw.

Cunha's performance on the left flank has some shortcomings; he tends to cut inside, being a right-footed player, which is not surprising. The issue is that Cunha simply does not go wide to deliver crosses, making Manchester United's tactics less varied.

Carrick tried using Amad Diallo in that position; although Diallo is left-footed, he is also not accustomed to the traditional style of an orthodox winger.

Therefore, Carrick recently emphasized that while Manchester United's frontline has many good options, the club will introduce left-sided players in the summer transfer window. In the 1-2 loss to Newcastle, Manchester United's bench only had Amad and Joshua Zirkzee as attacking players, with no other suitable offensive options on the left.

Manchester United fans also hope Doku returns soon. In the 1-2 defeat to Newcastle United, due to lack of available players, Carrick had to substitute the Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia, who is certain to leave this summer, resulting in him being outplayed by Newcastle youngster Will Osula, who scored a brilliant last-minute winner. If Doku were available, Malacia would not have gotten playing time, and Manchester United might have at least maintained an unbeaten record.

One left-back frequently linked with Manchester United is Fulham's Antonee Robinson. "TEAMtalk" reports that only £25 million is needed to acquire this 28-year-old American left-back, making it an economical transfer.

Since joining Fulham from Wigan Athletic in 2020, Robinson has developed into one of the most consistent left-backs in the Premier League, balanced in defense, speed, and assists. Both Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in him, but British media suggests Robinson leans more towards Anfield, which may disappoint the Red Devils.
