HARD TO BELIEVE: 6 Vietnamese Clubs Share One Home Stadium

6 out of 8 clubs participating in the 2026 National Futsal Championship have to register the same venue as their home ground.

The 2026 National Futsal Championship is scheduled to run from May 9th to July 31st with 8 clubs competing in a home-and-away format. However, according to the regulations recently announced by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), up to 6 teams have jointly registered the same competition venue: the Futsal Stadium in Chanh Hung Ward (Ho Chi Minh City). This reflects a unique reality in Vietnamese futsal, as most clubs do not own their own home stadium.

The list of clubs using this venue as their home stadium includes Youth Ho Chi Minh City, Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City, Sai Gon Titans, Sahako FC, Ha Long, and the reigning champion Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City. Thus, nearly all professional futsal teams in the Ho Chi Minh City area will be concentrated at the same stadium for this season. This somewhat makes the concept of a "home stadium" merely symbolic.

In fact, this is the second consecutive season that futsal clubs in Ho Chi Minh City have chosen the Futsal Stadium in Chanh Hung Ward as their shared home venue. The main reasons stem from financial difficulties and limitations in facilities. Finding a suitable stadium to host matches throughout the nearly three-month tournament is not easy for many teams.

Previously, Ha Long Club registered Tan Binh Stadium as its home ground. However, after some time, this team also moved to play at the Futsal Stadium in Chanh Hung Ward like other clubs. Concentrating at the same location helps teams organize more conveniently and reduces venue rental and operational costs.

The Futsal Stadium in Chanh Hung Ward is currently managed and operated by Thai Son Nam Sports Joint Stock Company. This enterprise is under the direction of Mr. Tran Anh Tu – Vice President of VFF, and it is also the home stadium of Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City Futsal Club. Thanks to support from the management unit, many futsal teams in Ho Chi Minh City are facilitated to train and compete here year-round.

While helping clubs save significant costs, having multiple teams share one home stadium also raises the need for future futsal infrastructure development. In the 2026 season, two Hanoi representatives, Thai Son Bac and Hanoi FC, registered Cau Giay Stadium as their home venue. The tournament champion will receive 500 million VND in prize money and represent Vietnamese futsal at the 2027 Asian Club Cup, while the runner-up and third-place teams will receive 200 million and 100 million VND respectively. The organizers will also award individual titles such as Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Top Scorer of the tournament.
