Surprisingly not called up to the Vietnam U19 team, Gia Bao made a strong impression by scoring in the V-League.

The Vietnam U19 squad list for training camp this March was announced, causing surprise as the prodigy Tran Gia Bao's name was missing. The striker born in 2008 is the most prominent figure in this age group, having already played two seasons in the V-League at a very young age, something none of the players in the call-up list have achieved.

This season, Gia Bao has even made 13 appearances in the V-League after just 16 rounds, though each match he only entered in the final minutes. This is valuable time for a 16-year-old player to accumulate experience. Even in round 16, Gia Bao scored the goal in HAGL's 3-3 draw against Da Nang.

Entering the field in the 58th minute, Gia Bao needed only 9 minutes to score a goal, raising the score to 2-1 for HAGL with a very quick opportunistic strike. The striker born in 2008 still showed his strongest point: the ability to seize opportunities and finish sharply, promising to become a dangerous scorer in the future.

Late last year, the reputable British newspaper The Guardian published the list Next Generation 2025: 60 of the best young talents in world football, gathering 60 of the most promising young talents in world football. Notably, alongside many prominent faces from Europe and South America, Vietnamese football also unexpectedly had a representative included.

Accordingly, the young striker Tran Gia Bao of HAGL was named in this list. The player born in 2008 currently holds the record as the youngest player to score a goal in V-League history, having scored right in his debut match. Previously, Gia Bao also attracted attention while wearing the Vietnam U17 jersey by scoring against Japan U17, helping his team draw 1-1 against the strong opponent.

Being honored by The Guardian among the top 60 most promising young talents in the world for 2025 is a great pride for Gia Bao. However, accompanying that honor is also considerable pressure, as the young striker of HAGL will undoubtedly receive more attention and expectations from the media and fans in the coming time.
