Goalkeeper Trần Nguyên Mạnh acknowledges that Nam Định was somewhat fortunate to win 1-0 against Thanh Hóa in V.League round 16.

The narrow 1-0 victory over Thanh Hóa FC in round 16 of V.League brought joy to Nam Định Club, but after the match, goalkeeper Trần Nguyên Mạnh candidly stated that the Nam city team had encountered some luck. The 1991-born goalkeeper considered this a challenging match as the opponent played with great determination and created many difficulties.

Evaluating the performance of both teams, Nguyên Mạnh shared: "Today was truly a difficult match for Nam Định. We know that Thanh Hóa Club always plays with over 100% spirit whenever they step onto the field. Thanh Hóa is causing discomfort for other teams, both in spirit and playing style. This is something I highly appreciate about them.

On our part, we always strive to enter the field and fight to the fullest. And currently, we are aiming to perform well in each match one by one. And in this match, thanks to a bit of luck, we managed to secure the victory."

The victory over Thanh Hóa also marks the third consecutive win for Nam Định since Coach Vũ Hồng Việt returned to lead the team. When asked about the role of the familiar coach, the goalkeeper of the Thiên Trường stadium home team expressed trust and praised the experience of this strategist.

Nguyên Mạnh stated: "Coach Vũ Hồng Việt has been associated with the team for nearly 4 years. He understands the team too well. Recently, Nam Định has not performed as well as fans expected. Fortunately, Coach Vũ Hồng Việt returned and helped the team secure 3 recent victories, as well as regain the trust of fans and all players."

Despite achieving positive results recently, Nam Định has not yet reproduced the explosive form seen in the previous two seasons. According to Nguyên Mạnh, the whole team is striving to regain confidence and improve finishing efficiency to secure more convincing victories.

This goalkeeper further shared: "Currently, the team is trying to regain confidence as well as the trust of fans. On the field, the team always plays with over 100% effort and is creating many opportunities. It's just that luck hasn't yet come to the team to achieve more decisive results. I think that's okay, as long as the team wins."

After round 16, with three consecutive wins each by a one-goal margin, Nam Định has climbed to 7th place on the standings with 21 points. The upcoming nearly three-week break due to V.League temporarily halting for the national team is seen as an opportunity for Coach Vũ Hồng Việt to continue refining the playing style and help the Nam city team regain its highest form when the league resumes.
