Right after accepting the mission to rescue PVF CAND from the threat of relegation, Coach Tran Tien Dai must confront a significant test as he meets Coach Le Huynh Duc, who developed his career at the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club.
The V-League always captivates with stories beyond the pitch, and the match between Ho Chi Minh City Police andPVF CANDin round 16 is a prime example.
Before becoming a prominent name in Vietnamese football,Coach Tran Tien Daiwas a player for the Ho Chi Minh City Police B team. His playing career was not particularly outstanding, especially compared to a legend like Le Huynh Duc.

Le Huynh Duc is one of the finest strikers in Vietnamese football history, having represented the national team for many years and still holding the second-highest goal tally for the national team after Le Cong Vinh.

But football is not solely defined by goals on the field. After transitioning to coaching, Coach Tran Tien Dai has carved out his own distinct mark in a very different way.
He played a key role in elevating Sai Gon Xuan Thanh into a formidable force in the V-League and continued to make an impact by helping Hanoi Police win the V-League 2023.

On the other side,Coach Le Huynh Ducalso experienced a glorious period on the coaching bench. His greatest success is tied to SHB Da Nang from 2009-2012, where he built a strong squad and won every domestic championship. At that time, Coach Le Huynh Duc was the one who repeatedly handed Coach Tran Tien Dai bitter defeats.
However, those glories are now quite distant in the past. Especially for Coach Le Huynh Duc, his coaching journey in recent years has not always been smooth, with limited success at SHB Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City Club, Sai Gon FC, Becamex Binh Duong (now Becamex Ho Chi Minh City).
After 15 rounds, Coach Huynh Duc's team stands 5th with 23 points, just 5 points behind the third-placed team, Ninh Binh. If they maintain stable form, Huynh Duc's squad can certainly dream of a position in the medal-contending group.
Meanwhile, PVF CAND's situation is completely opposite. The V-League newcomer has changed coaches twice within a single season. After parting with Coach Thach Bao Khanh and then Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong due to unsatisfactory results, the club's management had to turn to Tran Tien Dai as an experienced solution to salvage the situation.
PVF CAND currently sits at the bottom of the table with 11 points and faces a very high risk of relegation. A young squad and limited V-League experience have caused this team many difficulties as they enter the top-tier competition.
In such circumstances, Coach Tran Tien Dai's experience and connections are expected to bring about change. The upcoming clash with Coach Le Huynh Duc's team draws much attention, especially as it takes place at Thong Nhat Stadium.
With a fiery temperament, Mr. Dai may need to restrain himself to avoid unfavorable situations. Coach Le Huynh Duc is more mild-mannered, but Ho Chi Minh City Police will not be lenient towards opponents, as this is an opportunity for the club to secure 3 points and assert their ambition to advance into the top group.
