On March 15 Beijing time, the WTT Chongqing Champions Tournament women's singles quarterfinals concluded. World No. 1 Sun Yingsha suffered a surprising 2-4 defeat to Kuai Man. Shi Xunyao lost 2-4 to Harimoto Miwa, Chen Yi fell 3-4 to Otake Satsuki. Fortunately, Wang Yidi eliminated Shin Yubin 4-3. Thus, the women's singles semifinalists are determined: Kuai Man, Wang Yidi, Harimoto Miwa, and Otake Satsuki. China and Japan each secured two spots, making our path to the championship more difficult!

The Chinese women's singles team initially had 7 participants. Unexpectedly, Wang Manyu was upset and eliminated in the first round. Chen Xingtong lost an internal match in the 1/8 finals. Therefore, 5 players advanced to the quarterfinals, with the possibility of sweeping all semifinal spots. However, the quarterfinals saw consecutive setbacks: Shi Xunyao and Chen Yi lost to Japanese players, and Sun Yingsha fell in an internal match. Thus, only Wang Yidi and Kuai Man advanced to the semifinals. They will face each other in the semifinals, with only one advancing to the final. The final opponent will be Otake Satsuki or Harimoto Miwa!
After Wang Manyu's exit, Sun Yingsha became our hope for the championship. She is currently the strongest player, having recently won the Singapore Grand Slam women's singles title. In the quarterfinals, she faced young teammate Kuai Man in a derby match. The match was intense, with Kuai Man in fiery form. Although she lost the first game, she then staged a three-game rally to secure match points. Sun Yingsha saved one match point in the fourth game, but Kuai Man decisively won the sixth game 11-2, defeating Sun Yingsha 4-2.

Wang Yidi faced South Korean star Shin Yubin, displaying roller-coaster performance. She initially won three consecutive games, leading 3-0 and securing match points. However, she wavered in the fourth game, as Shin Yubin mounted a fierce counterattack, miraculously leveling the score 3-3. In the decisive game, Wang Yidi dominated with an 11-2 win, clinching the match 4-3 and avoiding a comeback defeat.
Subsequently, our young players Shi Xunyao and Chen Yi both lost. Shi Xunyao faced Harimoto Miwa; although she tied 1-1, she then lost two consecutive games, falling into a desperate 1-3 situation. She narrowed the gap to 2-3 in the fifth game, but lost the sixth game, ending 2-4 and missing the semifinals. Overall, there was a significant skill gap, with key points handled less effectively than Harimoto Miwa. Chen Yi faced Otake Satsuki; after tying 1-1 in the first two games, Otake Satsuki won two consecutive games to lead 3-1. Chen Yi, unwilling to concede, leveled the score 3-3 by winning two games, but failed to secure crucial points in the decisive game, losing 3-4.

Thus, this tournament produced three remarkable developments. First, the top four seeds were all eliminated. Second, Sun Yingsha suffered an upset loss to Kuai Man. Third, the semifinals are split evenly between China and Japan, ensuring a Japanese women's singles player will advance to the final.
