VFF immediately responded when Malaysia was ruled to lose 0-3 to Vietnam

The Vietnam Football Federation has just released the latest updates after AFC ruled Malaysia's losses in the two matches against Nepal and Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Immediately after the Asian Football Confederation issued disciplinary decisions against the Football Association of Malaysia, the Vietnam Football Federation provided official information regarding the adjustment of results in Group F of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 final qualifying round.

According to the content published by VFF, the organization cited AFC's decision, which clearly states that the Malaysian team was ruled to lose 0-3 in both matches against Nepal and the Vietnamese team due to violations of player eligibility regulations. Simultaneously, VFF also emphasized the legal basis of the penalty by quoting: “Based on Article 25.1 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code, Malaysia is ruled to lose with a score of 0-3 in both matches due to using ineligible players, regardless of the actual results previously on the field.”

Vietnam's football governing body focused on clarifying the changes in the group standings following AFC's decision. It emphasized: “The adjustment of results leads to significant changes in points and technical indicators in Group F.”

VFF also confirmed a crucial turning point for the national team by citing: “The Vietnamese team is awarded a 3-0 victory in the direct encounter, thereby raising the total points to 15 points… moving to the top of Group F with a perfect record after 5 matches.”
