Vietnam's U23 team officially assembled and commenced their first training session in March 2026 under the leadership of coach Dinh Hong Vinh, starting the preparation process for the CFA Team China 2026 competition.

The team Vietnam's U23 team officially started its first training session during the March 2026 training camp on the afternoon of March 17 under the direction of Acting Head Coach Dinh Hong Vinh. This marks the beginning of their journey to prepare for participation in the CFA Team China International Football Tournament – Xi'an 2026, with a spirit of active training and high determination from the entire squad.

In the opening training session, coach Dinh Hong Vinh directly observed, directed, and adjusted exercises to preliminarily assess the capabilities of each player. This assembly primarily involves young faces, many of whom have not had many playing opportunities, so the coaching staff particularly focuses on the evaluation and screening of personnel.

Not only aiming for the tournament in Xi'an, coach Dinh Hong Vinh and the coaching staff also set long-term goals for Vietnam's U23 team in 2026, especially the Asian Games campaign in September. Early training camps and international matches are considered the foundation for building a stable squad and improving professional quality.

However, the team also faces difficulties regarding personnel as forward Nguyen Le Phat cannot participate due to a shoulder injury. This absence somewhat affects coach Dinh Hong Vinh's plans for testing team formations, particularly in the forward positions.

Additionally, the appearance of Vietnamese overseas player Moric provides a new option for the team. Under the observation of coach Dinh Hong Vinh, this player will have the opportunity to demonstrate adaptability and compete for a position in the U23 lineup.
