According to AFC's decision, the Malaysian team was penalized with a 0-3 loss in two matches against Nepal (25/3/2025) and Vietnam (10/6/2025). This penalty was applied under Article 25.1 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code due to Malaysia using an ineligible player, regardless of the actual match results.

The result change caused a major shift in Group F's standings. Malaysia lost 6 points, dropping from 15 to 9 points, and their goal difference decreased from +14 to +2 (9 goals scored, 7 goals conceded). Conversely, the Vietnam team was awarded a 3-0 win, raising their total points to 15 and improving their goal difference from +6 to +13 (14 goals scored, 1 goal conceded), thereby moving to the top of the group.

When and where will the 2027 Asian Cup Finals take place

The finals of the Asian Football Championship – the 2027 Asian Cup – are confirmed to take place from January 7 to February 5, 2027, in three cities: the capital Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.

A total of five stadiums in Riyadh will host matches: King Fahd Sports City Stadium, King Saud University Stadium, Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud University Stadium, Kingdom Arena, and Al Shabab Stadium.

Two stadiums confirmed in Jeddah are King Abdullah Sports City Stadium and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium. A modern stadium will also be built in Al Khobar city, completing world-class infrastructure, providing facilities for the 24 top Asian national teams.
