Malaysia summons 28 players, including two newcomers, for the match against the Vietnam national team.

This afternoon (March 19), Malaysia national team head coach Peter Cklamovski announced the list of 28 players called up for the return match of the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers against the Vietnam national team at Thiên Trường Stadium (Ninh Bình) on March 31.

The list of 28 players was announced by the Malaysia national team coaching staff through a statement on the official social media platform of the Malaysia national team.

In this list, four goalkeepers—Syihan Hazmi, Haziq Nadzli, Azri Ghani, and Haziq Aiman—have been called up to compete for the starting position in the Malaysia national team's goal.

In the defensive line, 13 players have been selected, including Matt Davies, Declan Lambert, Zikri Khalili, Dominic Tan, Ubaidullah Shamsul, and captain Dion Cools, who continue to be trusted to lead the team's defense.

Naturalized midfielder Endrick Dos Santos, who plays in V-League for HCMC Police Club, has also been given an opportunity as he is included in Coach Peter Cklamovski's call-up list.

In the forward line, Faisal Halim, Safawi Rasid, and Paulo Josue are the players receiving high expectations from Malaysian fans to penetrate the Vietnam national team's defense.

Unfortunately, some key players are absent from this training camp, such as Arif Aiman, Romel Morales, Wan Kuzain, and Selangor goalkeeper Kalamullah Al Hafiz.

In this list, Coach Peter Cklamovski retained 22 players who were previously called up for the match against Nepal in November last year, while welcoming the return of Syahmi Safari and Feroz Baharudin.

Two foreign-born players, Bergson and Giancarlo Gallifuoco, did not complete their naturalization process in time to be called up to the Malaysia national team.

The 28 Malaysian players will assemble in Kuala Lumpur from March 23. Subsequently, Coach Peter Cklamovski will reduce the squad to 23 before traveling to Vietnam.

The match between the Vietnam national team and Malaysia will take place at 19:00 on March 31 at Thiên Trường Stadium (Ninh Bình).
