The latest move by Patrik Lê Giang after being omitted from the Vietnam national team

Vietnamese-origin goalkeeper Patrik Lê Giang has just made a move after missing the Vietnam national team lineup during the March FIFA Days.

On his personal Facebook page, goalkeeper Patrik Lê Giang has just made his first move after not being included in the Vietnam national team lineup for the March FIFA Days. The Slovakian-born Vietnamese goalkeeper posted: "If the universe is making you wait, it's because what's coming is truly worth it. Be patient. Never give up," accompanied by the symbol of the Vietnamese national flag.

At the end of January, Patrik Lê Giang officially obtained Vietnamese citizenship after three years of waiting. By March, according to an announcement from Ho Chi Minh City Police Club, Patrik was included in the preliminary list of the Vietnam national team for the March FIFA Days. This was also the first time he was called up to the Vietnam national team.

However, in the official list announced on March 17, Patrik Lê Giang's name was absent. The reason was not related to the player's professional ability but due to some remaining obstacles regarding the process of switching his football federation affiliation. Specifically, after completing the citizenship procedures, according to current FIFA regulations, he is currently undergoing review by the national football federations and FIFA regarding the necessary conditions to switch his representative federation and play for the Vietnam national team.

Regarding the Vietnam national team, coach Kim Sang Sik finalized the official list of 23 players for the matches against Bangladesh (March 26) and Malaysia (March 31). For the goalkeeper position, the Korean coach named three goalkeepers: Nguyễn Filip, Đặng Văn Lâm, and Trần Trung Kiên.
