VFF takes meaningful action for Vietnamese player with broken arm

Vietnamese Football Federation leaders visit and encourage injured U20 women's national team player during training camp in China.

On the afternoon of March 19th, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Van Phu visited and encouraged player Ha Phuong Nga of the U20 women's team, who is undergoing treatment for an injury during the training period preparing for the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup finals.

Previously, on March 14th, Ha Phuong Nga unfortunately suffered an injury during a friendly match with Guangxi Pingguo Beinong Women's Club, within the framework of the training camp in China aimed at preparing for the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup finals.

Immediately after returning to Vietnam, on March 15th, this player was examined and underwent realignment of the fractured bone at Vinmec Smart City Hospital. Currently, Ha Phuong Nga is in the recovery process following the doctor's instructions.

According to the initial assessment by the medical team, Ha Phuong Nga's injury requires approximately three months for full recovery. During the visit, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu encouraged and shared words with the young player, while hoping that Ha Phuong Nga maintains an optimistic spirit and follows the treatment plan to return to the pitch soon.

After concluding the training camp, the entire team will return to Vietnam on March 15th and move the training location to Ho Chi Minh City to continue the final preparation phase before departing for the tournament. In the crucial two-week period, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team are scheduled to have two high-quality friendly matches with the Uzbekistan U20 women's team on March 24th and 27th.

In the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup finals, the Vietnam U20 women's team is placed in Group A alongside China, host Thailand, and Bangladesh. With thorough preparation and high determination, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team aim to create a positive impression at the continental competition.

Thus, Ha Phuong Nga will definitely not be able to participate in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup finals. This is also a significant loss for the Vietnam U20 women's team. On March 29th, the entire team will depart for Bangkok (Thailand) to participate in the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup finals.
