U19 goalkeeper unexpectedly added to Vietnam national team

U19 goalkeeper Cu Luu Hau unexpectedly promoted to train with Vietnam national team in afternoon session on March 22.

During the afternoon training session on March 22 of the Vietnam national team, the appearance of young goalkeeper Cu Luu Hau provided a notable highlight. The goalkeeper born in 2008 was given the opportunity by the coaching staff to be promoted to train with the senior team, opening a valuable chance to gain experience in a top-level environment.

According to information, Cu Luu Hau was recently called up to supplement the U19 Vietnam squad. However, due to the U19 team having a short break, the coaching staff decided to call him up to train with the national team to utilize the time and help the young player accumulate practical experience.

Training alongside senior teammates is a rare opportunity for a very young goalkeeper. Not only does it help improve skills, but it is also an occasion for the coaching staff to directly observe and assess the potential of this player in a competitive environment requiring higher intensity and pressure.

During the training session, Cu Luu Hau was arranged to train alongside goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien. The drills were conducted according to a specialized plan for the goalkeeper position, focusing on reflexes, situational handling ability, and coordination with the defensive line.

On the other hand, some other goalkeepers such as Dang Van Lam did not participate in training with the full team but followed a separate recovery program to regain fitness after just joining the squad. This shows the coaching staff is making reasonable arrangements to ensure the best condition for the players.

During this training camp, Coach Kim Sang Sik selected three goalkeepers including Nguyen Filip, Dang Van Lam, and Tran Trung Kien. Adding Cu Luu Hau to the training not only helps increase squad depth but also demonstrates a long-term direction in discovering and nurturing young talents for the Vietnam national team.
