On March 24 morning, Vietnam's U23 coach Dinh Hong Vinh attended the press conference ahead of the CFA Team China 2026 friendly tournament.
At the press conference, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh, representing the Vietnam Football Federation, thanked the Chinese Football Association and the local organizers for providing excellent conditions for the U23 Vietnam team throughout this period, from accommodation and meals, training facilities, to the meticulous tournament organization.
Regarding the significance of the tournament, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh affirmed that this is an important opportunity for Vietnam's U23 team to test themselves and accumulate experience by facing quality opponents in the region. “This is a significant test tournament, allowing the team to learn and gain experience by competing against strong teams like U23 China, DPR Korea, and Thailand,”Coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized.
Responding to host country media about the participating squad, the Acting Head Coach of U23 Vietnam stated that this lineup combines players with international experience and promising young talents. Among them are individuals who have played in the AFC U23 Asian Cup finals such as Van Binh, Cong Phuong, Van Thuan..., alongside a newly rejuvenated group aged around 21.
Speaking about professional objectives, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh said the coaching staff does not prioritize results but focuses on refining the playing style and building the next generation. “Our main goal at this tournament is to improve all aspects of technique and tactics, fostering cohesion between the established and new players. Through this, we will gradually complete the squad for the next U23 generation, aiming for upcoming tournaments and building the team for the future,” he said.
In the opening match at 14:00 on March 25, the Vietnam U23 national team will face DPR Korea's U23 team.
