The coach and players of the Bangladesh national team have commented on the upcoming FIFA Day match against the Vietnam team.
The Bangladesh national team will face Vietnam in a FIFA friendly on March 26 and meet Singapore in the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers on March 31. Recently, Bangladesh player Shamit Shome expressed optimism about these two matches.
Shamit believes that achieving good results against Vietnam, a team that has qualified for the Asian Cup, and Singapore would be a significant achievement for Bangladesh football. This would elevate Bangladesh's standing in Asia and earn respect from opponents.

Shamit Shome Confidently Looks Forward to Friendly Match Against Vietnam Team
In the latest FIFA rankings, Bangladesh is ranked 181, Vietnam is 103, and Singapore is 148. However, Shamit is not concerned about this.
"Our first target is Vietnam, then Singapore. The ultimate goal after the June fixtures is the SAFF Championship (South Asian Football Championship). We are playing with pride. In football, success only comes when everyone plays in rhythm," the 28-year-old player shared with local media last week.
Shamit added: "You cannot win a match relying on just one person. From defense to attack, all parts must fight together. We must prepare best for each match by playing one game at a time."

Bangladesh National Team Coach Javier Cabrera
Meanwhile, Bangladesh's Spanish coach Javier Cabrera commented on the match against Vietnam: "On paper, Vietnam is the stronger team. They are even stronger than Singapore. But we see that the gap is not too large. Bangladesh can compete with both teams and play with a winning mentality."
