Vietnam national team fully assembled, determined to face Bangladesh and Malaysia

The Vietnam national team is fully assembled, urgently preparing for the friendly match against Bangladesh ahead of the rematch with Malaysia.

On the afternoon of March 24, the Vietnam national team continued training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, rushing to complete the final preparations for the international friendly match against Bangladesh. This is an opportunity for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team to review the squad, adjust tactics, and assess performance before heading towards the rematch with Malaysia in the final Asian Cup 2027 qualifying round.

This training session marks the team being fully assembled as the group of 7 players from Hanoi Police Club joined after the postponed match of Round 13 V.League. The return of key players helps complete the lineup, enhancing depth and competitiveness in all positions. The players mainly engaged in light training, movement exercises, and relaxation to regain optimal physical condition after recent matches.

Another positive sign is that forward Nguyen Xuan Son has been able to return to training with the whole team after two days of individual sessions, adding diversity to the team's attacking options. This return is seen as an important factor for coach Kim Sang-sik to have more personnel choices ahead of crucial matches.

Among the players who have joined the team, center-back Tran Dinh Trong continues to attract special attention. This is his first call-up under coach Kim Sang-sik, and also his return to the national team after nearly 4 years of absence due to injury. "When I learned I was in the preliminary list I was very happy, and when officially called up I was even more excited, as it's been many years since returning to the national team," Dinh Trong shared.

The center-back born in 1997 also emphasized that family is the greatest motivation during his recovery and return to the pitch: "After the injuries, family was the motivation helping me strive to perform better to regain my form." He also affirmed he will strive to compete for a starting position looking at the current list: "All players here deserve their place. I myself need to work harder to compete for a starting spot."

According to the plan, the Vietnam national team will have one more training day before entering the friendly match against Bangladesh at Hang Day Stadium on March 26. This match is seen as an important test, helping the team review its squad and tactics before hosting Malaysia in the final Asian Cup 2027 qualifying round at Thien Truong Stadium on March 31. This is a crucial preparatory step for the whole team to maintain high focus and aim for the best results.
