Vietnam National Team: Hoang Duc or Hoang Hen in the midfield?

With only a few days left before the Vietnam National Team faces Bangladesh and Malaysia, Coach Kim Sang Sik is confronted with one of the most crucial decisions: finding the true "master" for the midfield of the Vietnam National Team.

This position is the brain of the team, capable of controlling the tempo, directing the play, and becoming the soul of the team. Thanh Long is almost the only pure defensive midfielder, a player who intercepts, holds position, and provides a foundation for the forward line.

But the problem is that there is almost no suitable alternative for him. Coach Kim Sang Sik might have "revealed his cards" for the upcoming two matches by opting for a more attacking lineup.

The emergence of Do Hoang Hen makes the situation even more intriguing. This Brazilian-origin player brings a very different style. Now, the emergence of Hoang Hen opens a new direction. He could become the "modern number 10." The Hanoi FC player already has synergy with Xuan Son, similar to what was shown at Binh Dinh and Nam Dinh a few years ago. This is a connection that the national team doesn't need to rebuild from scratch.

The upcoming two matches will be an opportunity for the Vietnam National Team to experiment, especially against Bangladesh tomorrow (26/3). What the Korean coach needs is not just a skilled player, but a smoothly operating system. Hoang Hen might be given many opportunities to experiment, helping Coach Kim Sang Sik determine his best position on the field.

Regardless of the choice, it is clear that Coach Kim Sang Sik possesses one of the most promising midfield lines in Vietnamese football for many years. The issue is not a lack of talent, but finding a way for Hoang Hen, Hoang Duc, and Quang Hai to shine together.
