Vietnamese fans are going crazy over a player from the Bangladesh national team.

Arriving in Hanoi to join Bangladesh's squad, Hamza Choudhury received attention from Vietnamese fans ahead of the match scheduled for March 26.

Hamza Choudhury's appearance in Hanoi on March 24 sparked a wave of strong interest from Bangladeshi fans. Within just 10 hours after posting his first photo in Vietnam, his post garnered over 92,000 likes on Facebook, highlighting his special appeal to his home country.

On social media platforms, Bangladeshi fans couldn't hide their excitement seeing their "top star" joining the national team. Many comments called him a "legend" and "the midfield boss," while also expecting a standout performance in the clash with the Vietnamese team. That expectation reflects Hamza's central role in Bangladesh's lineup at the moment.

Not only causing a stir with fans from his homeland, Hamza Choudhury also received a welcome from a segment of Vietnamese supporters upon arriving in Hanoi. These are fans who have followed Leicester City playing in the English Premier League, where the midfielder born in 1997 spent several seasons competing and leaving a clear mark.

Hamza Choudhury is considered the highest-caliber player Bangladeshi football has ever produced. He plays as a defensive midfielder, having previously helped Leicester City win the FA Cup and the English Community Shield. Currently, he is still registered with this club but is playing in the English Football League Championship – the league ranked just below the Premier League in level.

According to the latest valuation, Hamza has a transfer value of around 5 million Euros. Besides, his influence is also shown by his 1.8 million followers on social media – a very impressive number for a player from South Asia.

Because he joined the Bangladesh national team squad latest, Hamza Choudhury couldn't participate in the first training session with the whole team. However, his presence on the field to greet the coaching staff and teammates still demonstrated his professionalism and high sense of responsibility.

Despite having only one full day of preparation before the match against the Vietnamese team at Hang Day Stadium on March 26, Hamza is still expected to make a difference. After that, he and Bangladesh will enter their final Asian Cup 2027 qualifying match against Singapore, where his role continues to be crucial.
