English Premier League player: 'I am very eager to play for the Vietnam national team'

Bangladesh national team midfielder Hamza Choudhury expressed excitement ahead of the friendly match against the Vietnam national team on March 26.

In a video posted by the Bangladesh Football Federation, midfielder Hamza Choudhury expressed excitement about his first inclusion in the national team squad. The Leicester City player did not hide his anticipation for the match against Vietnam: “I am very excited to join the team and play the match against Vietnam,” Hamza said succinctly but with determination.

Due to club commitments, the 1997-born midfielder could not participate in the team's initial preparation phase in Dhaka. He has just joined and will have only one full training session with his teammates before the match. Despite limited time for acclimatization and team integration, Hamza showed a determined spirit.

The physical condition of this player also drew attention as he has just returned from injury. However, Hamza appeared quite confident: “No problem. I feel very good, I will be in good shape and ready to play,” he affirmed.

Hamza Choudhury is currently one of the most notable figures in the Bangladesh national team. After 7 appearances, he has scored 4 goals and left a clear mark on the team's tactical operation. Born in England, this player can flexibly play as a defensive midfielder or right defender. He previously played for England youth teams before deciding to dedicate himself to Bangladesh - his mother's homeland.

At club level, Hamza developed through the Leicester City academy and was promoted to the first team in 2017 after gaining experience at Burton Albion. He has made over 100 appearances for this club, with the highlight being the FA Cup title in 2021. Additionally, this midfielder has also played for Watford and Sheffield United on loan, and became the first player of Bangladesh origin to score in European competitions.

In this season, Hamza has played 25 matches in the English Championship, continuing to affirm his stable role before returning to serve the national team.
