Inter Miami draws attention with a plan to honor Messi by dedicating a separate stand named after him, thereby affirming the iconic status and exceptional influence of the Argentine superstar at the club.
According to journalist Romano, Inter Miami is preparing to create an unprecedented milestone by deciding to name a stand at their new stadium after Lionel Messi. This project is part of the Nu Stadium development, currently under construction and poised to become a new symbol for the club.
The Florida-based club confirmed the creation of the "Leo Messi Stand" as a unique tribute to the Argentine superstar. In the official announcement, Inter Miami emphasized: “Messi will become part of a rare and special case in global sports: an athlete who regularly plays at his home stadium with a stand bearing his own name.” This is considered the most notable detail, showcasing Messi's exceptional influence at Inter Miami.
Since joining the club in 2023, Messi has rapidly transformed the entire image of Inter Miami, both professionally and commercially. Having a stand named after him while still playing demonstrates his superior status, something even Barcelona—where Messi is considered the greatest in history—has never done to a similar extent.
Not stopping at honoring their number one icon, Inter Miami also shows ambition to elevate the squad around Messi. According to sources, the club is planning to recruit Casemiro, the midfielder who won the Champions League five times with Real Madrid, to reinforce the midfield.
Inter Miami's leadership considers Casemiro an ideal piece to bring balance and steel, especially as they haven't fully filled the gap left by Sergio Busquets. Beyond professional factors, the Brazilian midfielder's arrival would also boost the club's appeal alongside names like Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, or Germán Berterame.
However, this deal is not easy to complete as Inter Miami has already used all its MLS "Designated Player" slots. This means Casemiro might have to accept a salary reduction if he wants to join the club. Nevertheless, given that his journey at Manchester United is nearing its end, MLS remains a suitable destination.
With plans both to honor Messi with a dedicated stand and to bring in another major star, Inter Miami is clearly demonstrating its ambition to build an "empire" centered around the Argentine icon—both on the pitch and in its global image.
