In the final moments, England lost victory against Uruguay

Football result - England missed out on victory in the friendly match with Uruguay by allowing the opponent to score in the closing minutes.

The match between England and Uruguay started with a lively pace right from the opening minutes.

With the home advantage, England started more proactively, continuously creating pressure with aerial situations and long-range shots. In the fourth minute, Harry Maguire had a chance to finish after a corner kick, but the ball went over the crossbar. The visiting team also quickly responded with fast-paced attacks, notably Agustín Canobbio's inaccurate long-range shot in the 27th minute.

In the following period, the "Three Lions" remained the team creating more clear opportunities. Dominic Solanke and Marcus Rashford repeatedly tried their luck but could not beat goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, who played very solidly. On the other side, Federico Valverde also had a dangerous shot from outside the penalty area but was timely blocked by England's defense. The first half ended without any goals scored.

Moving into the second half, the game continued to be balanced. England nearly scored the opening goal in the 60th minute when Dominic Calvert-Lewin finished close-range, but Muslera still excellently saved it.

It was only in the 82nd minute that the stalemate of the match was broken, when Ben White seized the opportunity to put the ball into the opponent's net. This goal required VAR verification before being confirmed.

Just when victory seemed to be in England's hands, drama unfolded in the added minutes. After consulting VAR, the referee awarded Uruguay a penalty, and Federico Valverde successfully converted it in the 90+4th minute, sealing the 1-1 draw.
