512 teams compete in the Vietnam Youth Football Tournament - Asina Cup 2026

On the morning of March 28, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union directed the Saint Giong Knowledge Portal to cooperate with Game Changer Joint Stock Company to organize the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam Youth Football Tournament - Asina Cup 2026.

This activity celebrates the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2026), the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam Sports Tradition Day (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2026); responds to the activities of Youth Month 2026; aims towards the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Union Tradition Day (October 15, 1956 - October 15, 2026); and implements the "I Love My Country" movement of the Vietnam Youth Union.

Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Member of the Central Youth Union Standing Committee, Standing Vice President of the Central Vietnam Youth Union; along with representatives of leadership from various units and players from the teams participating in the tournament.

This is a healthy and beneficial sports playground for youth and enthusiasts of grassroots football; it creates a cheerful and enthusiastic atmosphere, maintains and develops sports movements, and provides physical training for members and youth; contributing to promoting cohesion among members and youth, thereby strengthening the work of unity and gathering youth through clubs, teams, and groups based on interests.

The tournament follows 6-player football rules according to the WMF - World Mini Football Federation. Participating in the tournament are 512 teams from grassroots youth football clubs in Hanoi City and neighboring provinces.

The tournament consists of qualifying rounds and finals. The qualifying rounds are organized across 8 venue clusters. Teams compete in knockout matches to select one team from each cluster for the Finals.

In his opening speech for the tournament, Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Member of the Central Youth Union Standing Committee, Standing Vice President of the Central Vietnam Youth Union, stated that the Youth Football Tournament - Asina Cup 2026 is an activity to respond to the "I Love My Country" movement and the sports spirit initiated by Uncle Ho over the past 78 years. It also creates a healthy, beneficial playground for physical training and exchange among young people.

Our football tournament has gathered 512 teams, which will compete over one month, starting today (March 28), and the national finals will take place on April 25. "I hope that with the spirit of sportsmanship characterized by unity, honesty, and nobility, the athletes will compete wholeheartedly and deliver exciting, beautiful matches for the spectators…", Mr. Quy emphasized.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the opening match took place between the Vietnam Youth team and the Football Dream team. The qualifying matches will be held over two days, March 28 and 29, 2026.

The finals and the Closing Ceremony of the Tournament will take place on April 25, 2026 at the Hoang Liet Ward Sports Complex cluster (formerly Hoang Mai Stadium). The top 8 teams from the qualifying rounds will be divided into two groups, competing for the championship title of the tournament.

The overall prize for the Champion Team includes a Cup, 20 million VND, a set of Gold medals, and a nameplate. The Second Place winner will receive 10 million VND, a set of Silver medals, and a nameplate. The Third Place winner will receive 5 million VND, a set of Bronze medals, and a nameplate. Additionally, the Organizing Committee will award other subsidiary prizes, each worth 1 million VND and a commemorative medal.
