In an emotional moment at Old Trafford, the love from Manchester United fans made Casemiro's family unable to hold back tears, crafting a beautiful story off the pitch.

The 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on March 15th was not only significant in terms of points, but also became one of the most emotionally rich moments of the season for Casemiro personally. As the match drew to a close, tens of thousands of supporters at Old Trafford simultaneously shouted “one more year”, as a plea to the club's leadership to keep the Brazilian midfielder.

It was this fervent support that touched the heart of the 34-year-old star's family. Sharing on the club's media channel, Casemiro emotionally revealed: “My wife cried when she heard the fans singing like that. It was truly something very special.” Not only his family, but he himself admitted he was trying to maintain composure in these final matches, as the prospect of departure draws nearer.

Joining Manchester United from Real Madrid in the transfer window of summer 2022 for a fee reaching £70 million, Casemiro quickly affirmed the caliber of one of the world's top defensive midfielders. After four seasons, he has made 155 appearances, contributing greatly to winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, and becoming the midfield leader of the “Red Devils”.

In the current season, under manager Michael Carrick, Casemiro still plays a crucial role, especially in mentoring the young talent Kobbie Mainoo. His headed goal against Aston Villa, from Bruno Fernandes's corner kick, is clear evidence of his influence.

Although the contract still contains a clause to extend for another year, both parties agreed not to activate it from January, paving the way for a departure at the end of the 2025/26 season.
