During the March FIFA Days training and matches, Hanoi Club's players left a significant mark while representing the Vietnam national team.
During the March FIFA Days training session, Hanoi FC contributed five players to the Vietnam national team: Duy Manh, Hoang Hen, Xuan Manh, Tuan Hai, and Hai Long. Notably, all five players made substantial contributions in both victories against Bangladesh and Malaysia.
First, the Vietnam national team's 3-0 friendly win over Bangladesh on March 26 must be mentioned. At the familiar Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi FC players directly contributed to all three goals scored by the red-shirted team.
In the 7th minute, from a left-wing corner kick, Tuan Hai's shot deflected off a Bangladesh player into the net, opening the scoring for Vietnam. Although the goal was credited as an opponent's own goal, the Vietnamese number 10's contribution in this situation was still significant.
By the 15th minute, from a precise lofted pass, Xuan Manh chose a smart position before heading the ball into Bangladesh's net, raising the score to 2-0. Before the first half ended, another capital city team player, Hai Long, added a goal to secure a 3-0 victory for the "Golden Star Warriors" by confidently breaking into the penalty area and executing a sharp angled finish.
In the official match against Malaysia, captain Do Duy Manh continued to impress by heading in the opening goal in the 6th minute of the match. This was also the first goal in over six years for the 1996-born defender for the Vietnam national team, since scoring against Indonesia in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Meanwhile, naturalized midfielder Do Hoang Hen can be considered the player who received special attention during this training session. The 1994-born midfielder officially debuted in the match against Bangladesh. In the match against Malaysia, he contributed an assist helping Vietnam secure a final 3-1 victory over the opponent.
