Sir Jim Ratcliffe demands Manchester United's transfer department to generate £100 million from player sales! Eight-player clearance list revealed, with Zirkzee not spared.

Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has instructed the club's transfer team to recoup at least £100 million this summer by selling surplus players! Several players are already confirmed to depart this summer, but they will not bring in transfer fees, including Casemiro, Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia. By saving on their wages, the Red Devils' finances will still benefit.

Ratcliffe also demands the sale of several other players: Rashford, Højlund, André Onana, Manuel Ugarte, and Joshua Zirkzee are all on this clearance list. Among them, Højlund's permanent transfer to Napoli is essentially confirmed, allowing the club to receive €44 million.

Rashford's loan contract to Barcelona also includes a €30 million buyout clause, but the La Liga leaders want to negotiate. In this week's La Liga match, Rashford scored again, and United hopes his performances improve so they have more leverage to stick to their original asking price.

If Rashford and Højlund's loans successfully convert into permanent transfers, United could collectively receive £64 million. However, another loaned player this season, Onana, is harder to deal with; the club needs to sell him for £19 million to avoid an accounting loss.

Dutch striker Zirkzee hopes to stay at Manchester United, but Ratcliffe does not approve and is willing to sell him at a loss. Zirkzee joined from Bologna for €42.5 million (£36.5 million).

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs explained: "Zirkzee wanted to leave in January mainly to get playing time and secure a spot for the World Cup. Now that dream is shattered, he hopes to stay at United, fight for his position, impress the new manager, and gain more opportunities. But if he still cannot get playing time, he will accept that he has to leave. United will still buy players, and Zirkzee will hardly have a chance to start; United will frankly advise him to transfer."

Ugarte, acquired for €60 million (£50.8 million), will cause United even greater losses. However, United may have to sell him to raise funds for signing a high-priced new defensive midfielder. Whether it's Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali, Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, or even Alex Scott, such players are not cheap, with asking prices above £50 million.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand suggested that the club needs to sign four new players in the summer transfer window. "If I were in the club's management, my priority would be to bring in two midfielders. One would be a starter, and the other could be a young player who can develop alongside Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, etc. I would also sign a forward, preferably a younger player who can serve as backup for our existing attackers. Additionally, I would recruit a full-back."

Ferdinand added: "This is a realistic plan. I know you might say United needs ten new signings because many positions have room for improvement. However, I believe a complete overhaul isn't necessary; the current plan is already challenging but feasible."

As a former England international, Ferdinand's suggestion clearly leans toward United buying domestic players. "At the start of the season, everyone was talking about Baleba, but his form has noticeably declined. Elliot Anderson seems to have surged ahead; I think he is a very outstanding player. Both in ability and character, Anderson is an ideal candidate. I firmly believe he will become an indispensable part of the team. I think the midfielder United needs should be versatile—able to move actively, possess excellent mobility, be physically strong, and lead the team forward. Currently, Anderson seems to fit. But I think there are other young players with potential too; I don't want to name them now to avoid drawing attention."
