Manchester United may need 90 million to buy Tonali! Agent confirms Premier League giants are competing, with Red Devils being the top favorite.

Sandro Tonali of Newcastle United will be a hot commodity in this summer's transfer market. His agent, Peppe Rizzo, confirms that many top Premier League clubs are showing strong interest in signing him. The list of elite clubs is long, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Arsenal, etc.

Rizzo told "Italian Football": "Sandro (Tonali) is first and foremost a champion, both in personal character and on the pitch. Our goal is to help Sandro reach a higher level, and this was indeed a good attempt. Even though the suspension incident occurred later, this transfer was still successful. Newcastle's fans and the club have always treated Sandro very well, giving him strong support every time. He is also a target for top clubs; his outstanding performances naturally attract attention."

Newcastle very much hopes to keep its star player, but must realistically recognize that missing the Champions League means departure for some players in the squad. Tonali has always said he is very happy at St James' Park, which is true. He has a deep bond with the club because they fully supported him even after his 10-month suspension.

However, this does not mean Tonali will not leave. He would only ensure a good parting, bringing substantial income to the club. Especially if Newcastle cannot create a miracle by the end of this season and miss qualification for European competitions, that would also be a choice the club would understand.

Newcastle CEO David Hopkinson recently admitted that to have more funds for the first-team squad, they might have to sell some well-known players this summer. He did not specify which players might be sold, but Tonali is clearly one of the players who could command the highest price.

Tonali's contract with Newcastle is valid until 2029, with an option to extend for another year. Local English media in Newcastle estimate that if an offer exceeds 90 million pounds, Newcastle would consider it meeting their selling conditions.

Of course, the club does not want to lose a player like Tonali. Manager Eddie Howe insists that Tonali is fully committed to Newcastle. "The most important thing is Sandro himself," Eddie Howe said. "In my view, he is extremely focused and fully dedicated to his work. He is sometimes extremely selfless, always thinking for the team, never considering personal gain. He is completely immersed in his work, ignoring all distractions around him."

Ideally, Newcastle does not want to sell its players to competitors within the Premier League. But the reality is that apart from Premier League teams, hardly any other clubs can afford the transfer fee they demand.

Currently, Manchester United is seen as the most likely team to sign Tonali. Manchester City is also being watched, as there are rumors Rodri might return to Spain. Tonali could be an ideal replacement for him. However, Manchester City's first choice is reportedly Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest. Additionally, there are various speculations about manager Pep Guardiola's future.

Real Madrid has also been interested in signing Rodri and Tonali, hoping to strengthen the team to surpass Barcelona again in La Liga. They are fully capable of making an offer that satisfies Newcastle. Moreover, as Guardiola also admits, few players would refuse the chance to play at the Bernabeu and partner with stars like Mbappe, Vinicius, and Bellingham.

It is reported that Real Madrid scouts have been monitoring Tonali in recent weeks. They believe this 25-year-old player is more suitable than Rodri, who will turn 30 in June. However, the "Galacticos" are also very interested in Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine international was given a two-match internal suspension by Blues manager Rosener for clearly stating his willingness to transfer to La Liga.

There are rumors that Tonali also considers returning to Serie A, but this option can be 100% ruled out this summer. Although he never hid his wish to play in Italy again before his career ends, it is not the right time now. No Serie A club can afford him, so the story ends there.

Usually, major decisions are postponed until after competitions end, but Tonali no longer has this concern. With Italy losing to Bosnia in a penalty shootout, missing the World Cup finals for the third consecutive time, Tonali's next considerations are only about his own future. If Manchester United or any team decides to make Tonali their primary transfer target after the season ends, no external factors can hinder the deal.

Newcastle certainly hopes that Italy's misfortune allows Tonali time to rest and recover, so he can return in optimal condition at the start of preseason training and continue playing for the team.

But the agent does not rule out the possibility of a transfer. Rizzo said in February: "We never had any negotiations with Arsenal. Newcastle would never allow Tonali to leave in January. There was absolutely no possibility, so we didn't even need to discuss it. It hasn't started being discussed now either. We will look at Sandro's transfer valuation around March, but only if Newcastle is willing to negotiate. He is fully focused on Newcastle's season now, so this is still a meaningless topic for now."

According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tonali's agent indeed acted as said and contacted Manchester United in March. However, the next steps are not yet determined.

"Two Premier League clubs have already called to inquire about Tonali's current situation," Romano explained. "Manchester City and Manchester United are both closely monitoring this. This year, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United have shown great interest in Tonali... We know how complex negotiations with Newcastle are. Currently, talks with Manchester United and Manchester City are still in early stages."

Regarding Manchester United's choice, Romano said: "Manchester United's candidate list includes multiple players; it cannot be just one or two candidates, as it depends on the team's budget. It also depends on who will be the manager, which will determine the type of player Manchester United wants to sign. It could be one player, or two players. Therefore, many factors will affect Manchester United's final midfield reinforcement choice. No decision has been made yet; there are still several people on the list. After internal discussions at Manchester United, they will decide who to buy."
