On the evening of April 10, the Vietnam U17 national team arrived in Surabaya (Indonesia), officially beginning their journey to participate in the 2026 Southeast Asian U17 Championship with stable physical condition and high spirits, ready for their opening match.
After nearly a day of travel, the entire team arrived at the tournament venue. Upon arrival, the team received meticulous support from the host organizing committee, with enthusiastic volunteers and a fully arranged transportation system, including buses, vans for travel, and specialized trucks for transporting equipment.
The Vietnam U17 national team is stationed at the Mövenpick Surabaya hotel – one of the international standard hotels arranged by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) and the organizing committee for participating teams. From the airport, the team traveled about 45 minutes to their accommodation.
Due to the long journey, immediately after completing the room check-in procedures, the entire team quickly had dinner and rested to recover their physical condition, preparing for activities today, their first day in Surabaya.
According to the plan, on the morning of April 11, the team leader and representatives of the coaching staff will attend the pre-tournament technical meeting. Head coach Cristiano Roland will attend the press conference before the opening match of Group A, where Vietnam U17 is grouped with opponents Indonesia, Malaysia, and Timor Leste.
On the same afternoon, at 16:00, the team will begin their first training session in Indonesia to finalize preparations for their opening match against Malaysia U17. This match will take place at 15:30 on April 13 at Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium.
