Vietnam's youth team wins first match in Australia

Following a 1-1 draw with the Queensland Maroon U15 girls team in their debut match on April 10, the Vietnam U15 girls team showcased a remarkable display, beating the Tasmania U15 girls team 3-1 in their second game at the international friendly competition in Australia.

In the match held this morning, at the 4th minute, from a teammate's back pass, Ma Ngoc Anh unleashed a dangerous long-range shot from about 25 meters into the dead corner, opening the scoring 1-0 for the Vietnam U15 girls team.

At the 23rd minute, Le Thi Bao Tram broke through and doubled the lead after a precise finishing move. By the 30th minute, Quynh Lam received a teammate's pass out, executed a long-range shot into the dead corner from around 25 meters, helping the team establish a 3-0 advantage already in the first half.

In the second half, the opposing team reduced the score to 1-3 at the 50th minute following a corner kick situation that resulted in a goal. Nevertheless, the Vietnam U15 girls team maintained a solid game control to preserve the victory.

Ultimately, the Vietnam U15 girls team secured a convincing 3-1 victory, thereby gaining more confidence ahead of their next match against the NSW Sky U15 girls team tomorrow on April 12.

The Vietnam U15 girls team will participate in the CommBank Emerging Championships 2026, taking place from April 9 to April 15 at the Home of the Matildas Center (Bundoora, Melbourne). This is a reputable youth talent development platform in Australian football, gathering top youth teams and international guest teams.

The tournament is part of Australia's football youth player discovery and development system, providing a high-quality competitive environment that helps players accumulate experience and encounter diverse playing styles.
