A series of Vietnamese football stars suspended, Round 19 of V-League extremely heated

The suspension of up to 15 players ahead of Round 19 reflects the escalating intensity of V-League 2025/2026, particularly as the season moves into its critical phase, where each point carries decisive significance and the pressure of competition intensifies.

Prior to Round 19 of V-League 2025/2026, the organizers announced the list of suspended cases. Accordingly, a total of 15 players will be unable to play due to disciplinary sanctions, mainly for accumulating three yellow cards, alongside one case of a direct red card.

Becamex TP.HCM is the team with the earliest disqualification, as Sam Elisha Bruce must miss the match against Hanoi (April 17) after receiving a red card. Meanwhile, Hong Linh Ha Tinh suffers losses with two players, Nguyen Van Hanh and Le Viktor, both absent for the clash against Hai Phong.

The Port City team also lacks the service of Dam Tien Dung in this round. Similarly, SHB Da Nang loses two players, Le Vu Quoc Nhat and Vo Nguyen Hoang, for their away match against Thanh Hoa.

Dong A Thanh Hoa is one of the clubs most affected, with three players suspended including Damoth Thongkhamsavath, Doan Ngoc Ha, and Doan Ngoc Tan. Conversely, Song Lam Nghe An also misses Nguyen Xuan Binh in the match against Thanh Hoa itself.

Notably, the forces of the public security clubs are also significantly impacted. Ho Chi Minh City Public Security has three players suspended: Matheus Felipe Santos Nascimento, Vo Huu Viet Hoang, and Le Quang Hung. Meanwhile, Hanoi Public Security will be without Doan Van Hau and Bui Hoang Viet Anh.

Additionally, The Cong Viettel Club, though having no suspended players, faces a major loss on the coaching bench as Coach Popov is banned from managing for 4 matches according to Decision No. 351.
