Following the 2-1 victory over Australia U17 in the semifinals of the 2026 Southeast Asia U17 Championship, head coach Cristiano Roland expressed his joy and satisfaction with his players' performance, while emphasizing that the entire team must maintain high concentration for the upcoming final match.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Coach Cristiano Roland stated: "I am very happy and pleased with this result. The victory stems from the meticulous preparation by the coaching staff as well as the players. The whole team started the match with confidence; even though we conceded an early goal, our mentality was not affected."
According to the Brazilian tactician, the crucial factor that allowed Vietnam U17 to achieve the comeback was patience and persistent fighting spirit. "We maintained calmness and patience in executing our game plan. That was precisely the key to turning the situation around against a very strong opponent like Australia," he emphasized.
Coach Cristiano Roland also extended his gratitude to his colleagues in the coaching staff and all the players who gave their utmost effort throughout the match. "I want to thank the coaching staff and the players for fighting with the highest spirit. This is a deserved victory for what the entire team demonstrated."
Despite securing a spot in the final, Coach Cristiano Roland believes Vietnam U17 must keep grounded and continue focusing fully on the tournament's last match. "We still have one very important match ahead. The whole team needs to maintain high concentration and prepare optimally for the final," he said.
Regarding the opponent Malaysia U17, Coach Cristiano Roland noted that this team will undergo significant changes compared to their group stage encounter. "Malaysia will enter the final with completely different form and mindset. Therefore, we need thorough preparation and cannot afford to be complacent," the Brazilian tactician stressed.
