Head coach Cristiano Roland was pleased with Vietnam U17's display in the semifinal win against Australia 2-1, and highlighted the adjustments made by Malaysia U17, the team's rival in the upcoming final at 19:30 on April 24.
"I am very pleased and happy with this result. The victory stems from the thorough preparation by the coaching staff and the players. The whole team started with confidence; despite conceding an early goal, their mentality was not affected.
We maintained composure and patience in executing our game plan. That was the key to turning the situation around against a very strong opponent like Australia.

Despite securing a spot in the final, Coach Cristiano Roland believes Vietnam U17 must keep their feet grounded and continue focusing fully on the tournament's last match.
"We still have a very important match ahead. The whole team needs to maintain high concentration and prepare optimally for the final.
Malaysia will enter the final with a completely different form and mindset. Therefore, we need thorough preparation and cannot be complacent."

In the 11th minute, Becvinovski skillfully maneuvered and curled a shot into the far corner, scoring for Australia U17.
During stoppage time of the first half, Savic fouled Dai Nhan inside the penalty area. From the 11-meter spot, Dai Nhan's shot hit the post, but Manh Cuong quickly reacted to head in the equalizer at minute 45+5.
By the 60th minute, the score was increased to 2-1 for Coach Cristiano Roland's squad. From a free kick on the right flank, Minh Thuy delivered a low cross into the penalty area.
A Vietnamese player dodged the ball, creating space for Nguyen Luc to volley and score.
According to the schedule, the final match of the 2026 Southeast Asia U17 Championship between Vietnam U17 and Malaysia U17 will take place at 19:30 on April 24.
In the group stage, Vietnam U17 secured a 4-0 victory over this opponent. However, given the nature of a final, the rematch promises to be more tense and unpredictable.
