Ronaldo faces a historic opportunity after nearly a decade of waiting

Cristiano Ronaldo stands before a special milestone after 8 years at club level as Al Nassr advances to the AFC Champions League Two final, just one match away from reaching the next continental title.

Al Nassr faced Qatar's representative, Al Ahli, at Zabeel Stadium in a single-leg semifinal under AFC's new format. Despite trailing from the 10th minute, Ronaldo's team staged an impressive comeback. Kingsley Coman shone brightly with a hat-trick in the 12th, 45th, and 63rd minutes, while Angelo and Abdullah Al-Hamdan also scored, helping Al Nassr secure a resounding 5-1 victory to earn a spot in the final.

Al Nassr's opponent in the championship match will be Japan's representative, Gamba Osaka, which emerged victorious from the Eastern region bracket. The final is scheduled to take place on May 16, and Al Nassr holds a significant advantage as they will play at their home ground, Al Awwal Park, supported by their home crowd.

Ronaldo's most recent continental title at club level

Ronaldo possesses an extensive collection of trophies throughout his career, but to find his most recent continental title at club level, one must look back to 2018. At that time, he and Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League in the 2017/18 season, his fifth career title and also the most recent time he claimed victory on an international club-level stage.

Since leaving Real Madrid to join Juventus in the 2018/19 season, followed by Manchester United and currently Al Nassr, Ronaldo has yet to add any further continental titles at club level. Although he won the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023, this tournament is not officially recognized by FIFA.
