Laos U17 Determined to Defeat Australia, Aiming for Third Place in Southeast Asia

Prior to the important game against Australia U17, the football authorities of Laos made statements to inspire the team spirit, calling on the athletes to compete wholeheartedly for the flag and jersey.

Mr. Khamphaeng Vongkhanty, Vice President of the Laos Football Federation, along with Mr. Koladeth Phonphachan - a member of the Executive Committee and Vice President of the team Laos U17, personally met and encouraged the players before the return match.

Speaking at the team meeting, Mr. Khamphaeng emphasized: “This is a great opportunity for us to fight with all our strength, demonstrate unity and sacrifice. Players should perform at their best, seize every chance to secure the third position for Laos. Don’t create pressure yourselves; play with all your heart.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Koladeth also affirmed the team's determination: “In the previous match, we didn’t fully showcase our capabilities. But this time, the whole team is ready to face a strong opponent like Australia. Even though they may have superior physique and squad strength, we are not inferior in spirit and resolve. Laos U17 is prepared to make history.”

The match for the third place in the 2026 Southeast Asia U17 Championship between Laos U17 and Australia U17 will take place at 15:30 on April 24 at Gelora Delta Stadium. Despite being underestimated, Laos U17 has shown significant progress in this year’s tournament.

The upcoming match is not only an opportunity to win third place but also a chance for young players to accumulate valuable experience, contributing to the future of Laos football.
