Van Quyet's shocking statement: 'Even if Ninh Bình had three Hoang Duc... it would still be the same'

Forward Van Quyet made notable remarks following Hanoi FC's 3-2 victory over Ninh Bình in round 20 of the V-League.

On the evening of April 24 at Ninh Bình Stadium, the home team and Hanoi FC created a thrilling chase, with a 3-2 victory leaning towards the capital's visiting team. This result helps Hanoi FC close in on the top 3 position as the race nears its conclusion. They are only 1 point behind Ninh Bình (currently ranked 3rd).

Not only on the field, the post-match comments by captain Van Quyet (Hanoi) also stirred up social media.

"Even having three Hoang Duc would be the same", Van Quyet asserted that Hoang Duc's absence was not the reason for Club Ninh Bình's defeat. "I think, football where a defender has the ball and then lobs it to the forward, that is not football. I cannot fully evaluate Club Ninh Bình, but I can say Hanoi FC performed well. All that the team has achieved recently, 2 home victories, 1 away victory. That is the wonderful thing I have brought to the spectators".

Speaking further about the capital team's performance, the forward born in 1991 affirmed: "Hanoi FC prepared very well. In this match, among the 5 goals scored, Hanoi FC scored 3 and allowed Ninh Bình to score 2. The young players put in great effort. The whole team also focused in the final minutes to secure a valuable away victory".

"I don't want to talk too much about my team. People can say Hanoi FC is improving day by day. From the coach to the players, everyone is eager to play. In this match, a young player (Anh Tiep) put his name on the scoreboard and played 70 minutes. That is the confidence of the young player as well as the entire team", Van Quyet concluded.
