According to TTXVN's correspondent in Washington, the tournament is scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19, with the opening match in Mexico and the final in New York. A total of 16 cities in North America will host the event, with the United States alone contributing 11 venues.
Despite generally high prices, an analysis by USA TODAY Shopping indicates there are still more "accessible" options. Among the 72 group stage matches, 13 have starting prices below $300 USD. In fact, the lowest recorded price starts at just $188 USD for some less "high-profile" matches.
However, American fans are unlikely to have the chance to watch their national team at such low prices. The matches with affordable prices mainly belong to fixtures without the participation of major teams, spread across all three host countries.
Some notable matches priced under $300 USD include: Jordan vs Algeria in San Francisco (starting at $188 USD), Austria vs Jordan in San Francisco (starting at $201 USD), Algeria vs Austria in Kansas City (starting at $218 USD), and Curacao vs Côte d’Ivoire in Philadelphia (starting at $228 USD). Other matches range from around $239 USD to under $300 USD, taking place in various cities such as Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta (all in the U.S.) and Vancouver (Canada).
Besides the ticket price discussion, Iran's participation is also drawing attention amid escalating geopolitical tensions since late February. Despite previously hinting at a possible withdrawal, Tehran recently confirmed that their national team - Team Melli - is "fully prepared" to participate in the tournament.
According to the schedule, all three of Iran's group stage matches will take place in the United States, including two in Los Angeles and one in Seattle. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington welcomes the Iranian team's participation, but noted that control measures may be applied to individuals linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In a context of high demand and volatile prices, the 2026 World Cup is predicted to continue witnessing a clear disparity in costs, yet it still leaves a "window" for fans with limited budgets.
