Florentino Perez, the President of Real Madrid, is reportedly enthusiastic about the prospect of appointing a world-class coach to take the head coach position at the Bernabeu.
According to journalist Joaquin Maroto, President Florentino Perez is a great admirer of Massimiliano Allegri, who is currently leading AC Milan, and is strongly convinced by the idea of bringing the Italian strategist to guide Real Madrid.
That belief is not random. Perez considers Allegri a coach with clear authority, capable of controlling the dressing room, a factor Real Madrid is particularly valuing after recent unsatisfactory experiences. The Royal club currently prioritizes a strong-character leader who can establish discipline and maintain decisive authority with the stars.
In reality, recent trials with Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa have not yielded effective results. Alonso is considered too rigid in his approach, leading to a loss of control in the dressing room, while Arbeloa went the opposite direction by being too soft and trying to please the players. Both failed to meet the specific requirements at the Bernabeu.
In that context, Allegri emerges as a more suitable option. As an experienced Italian football coach, he played a key role during Juventus's decade-long dominance and is currently working at AC Milan. Though not the most tactically prominent coach in Europe, the strategist born in 1967 is highly rated for his people management skills and maintaining discipline within the team.
Parallel to that, Real Madrid is still pursuing Jurgen Klopp, but the German strategist has not given a clear answer, along with doubts about his likelihood of leaving the Red Bull system, forces the club to consider more practical alternatives.
Therefore, in a summer promising many changes, Allegri is gradually becoming a reliable choice in the eyes of Real Madrid's upper echelons, not only for his experience, but also because he embodies precisely the qualities that Los Blancos are lacking.
