VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan Motivates Vietnam U17 Women's Team Before AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup 2026.
On April 24, at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) headquarters, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan met and encouraged the Vietnam U17 women's team before their departure to participate in the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup Final Round in China.
Attending the meeting were VFF Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Thanh Ha, Head Coach Okiyama Masahiko, the coaching staff, and all players of the Vietnam U17 women's team.
During the meeting, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan advised the entire team to maintain their health and focus fully on competing in the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup 2026 Final Round, as this is a high-level competition requiring thorough preparation and a courageous competitive spirit. He noted that playing in a continental tournament will help the players accumulate experience, mature faster, and lay a foundation for their long-term development path.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan reminded the team to proactively study opponents, develop suitable tactics, effectively utilize individual strengths and collective spirit; while maintaining determination, focus, and never giving up in any circumstances. VFF will continue to support the team through opponent analysis and evaluation to effectively serve their technical needs throughout the competition process.
On behalf of the coaching staff and players, Head Coach Okiyama Masahiko expressed thanks for VFF's attention and facilitation. The head coach stated the team has prepared actively, especially after training in Japan and the training phase at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, and affirmed the entire team will strive to compete with the highest determination.
According to the plan, the Vietnam U17 women's team will depart for China on April 28 to participate in the tournament. The AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup 2026 Final Round takes place in Suzhou (China) from April 30 to May 17, 2026, with 12 teams participating. In the Final Round, the Vietnam U17 women's team is in Group A alongside opponents China, Thailand, and Myanmar. According to regulations, the four best-performing teams will earn the right to represent Asia at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2026.
