Arne Slot fears Salah may have played his final match for Liverpool

Coach Arne Slot is confronted with a significant worry as top star Mohamed Salah could prematurely conclude his time at Liverpool following an injury incurred during the victory over Crystal Palace.

In Liverpool's 3-1 victory, Salah had to leave the pitch in the 60th minute after showing signs of a thigh muscle strain. The image of the Egyptian forward limping off immediately worried the coaching staff and the "Red Brigade" fans. At 33, Salah is already in the final phase of his peak career, and any serious injury at this point could greatly impact his future.

Speaking after the match, Coach Arne Slot admitted that a specific conclusion on the injury severity could not yet be made, but did not hide his anxiety: "We don't know exactly yet. There might still be a chance for him to return, but the season only has a few weeks left and the remaining matches are not many. We must wait for the examination results." He also emphasized that Salah always maintains a very good physical care regimen, so he hopes this forward can recover in the shortest possible time.

However, Slot himself understands that Salah's early departure is not a positive sign. He added: "Everyone knows Salah rarely leaves the pitch midway. When he has to do so, it indicates the issue is not minor. But we still need to wait further." This is clearly a heavy blow to Liverpool during the decisive phase of the season, as they are fiercely competing for a Champions League spot.

The win over Crystal Palace helped Liverpool solidify their position in the top four, but the joy was incomplete as the team continuously faces squad issues. Slot acknowledged: "Another victory, but another injury case. That's our story this season."

Besides Salah's injury, the match also sparked controversy with the incident where goalkeeper Freddie Woodman was hurt after a collision with Ismaila Sarr. While Woodman was on the ground, Daniel Muñoz seized the opportunity to score into an empty net, prompting strong reactions from Liverpool players. Nevertheless, referee Andy Madley upheld the goal due to no clear foul.
