The team will continue training to prepare for the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup at the Vietnam Football Federation. According to the plan, on May 3, the team will depart to Saudi Arabia to prepare for their first match in the tournament against Yemen U17.

Coach Cristiano Roland stated: "Vietnam football has many talents, but sometimes lacks confidence. What is shown on the field is the result of the foundation we are building. This is not just about winning a tournament, but a step to create an identity for the team.

We believe in the potential of this group. The whole team will continue to strive to prepare best for the upcoming tournament."

Thanh Hoa coach remains cautious.

Thanh Hoa Club secured a 1-0 victory over PVF-CAND in round 20, extending their lead over the relegation battle group to 6 points, but coach Mai Xuan Hop remains cautious.

"Recently, Thanh Hoa Club has faced extreme difficulties, and this year's relegation battle is also very fierce. Today's victory, I want to thank the entire team and over 4 million people of Thanh Hoa who have always been by our side, encouraging and pushing us through each difficult phase. Today's joy is a release of all the pressure the team has endured recently.

Today's win makes us somewhat more comfortable regarding the point gap with the chasing group.

I cannot be optimistic yet, because football is unpredictable. Our upcoming journey remains very difficult. I think only when the V-League season concludes will things be certain," coach Mai Xuan Hop said.

Van Quyet suspended after match against Ninh Binh Club.

Forward Nguyen Van Quyet received a yellow card in the match between Hanoi FC and Ninh Binh on April 24, and will be suspended for the next round of V-League.

Van Quyet was penalized with a card after fouling Quang Nho of the home team. This is his third yellow card of the season, meaning he will be suspended for round 21 according to the organizer's regulations.

Defender Nguyen Thanh Chung also cannot return for round 21 due to receiving a direct red card in round 19 and being suspended for two matches. He missed round 20 and will continue to be absent in round 21.

Meanwhile, the injury of Do Duy Manh has not yet been clearly assessed, so his possibility of playing in round 21 remains uncertain.

According to the round 21 V-League schedule, Hanoi FC will host Da Nang at Hang Day Stadium on May 1.

PVF-CAND's relegation survival chances are dwindling.

Coach Tran Tien Dai admitted that PVF-CAND's relegation survival chances are dwindling after the team suffered another defeat in the LPBank V-League 2025/26.

"For me, this is truly a disappointment. However, I also have praise for my players for playing a fierce match against Thanh Hoa even on their home ground.

Our gameplay was disrupted by their imposed strategy and very high pressure from Thanh Hoa. They closed down well, sealed the wings, and blocked our midfielders.

They succeeded in organizing a tight defense. We could not penetrate despite having opportunities.

Relegation survival chances are gradually drying up after this match. However, we must forget the defeat and focus on the next home match, determined to earn 3 points to continue the chase," coach Tran Tien Dai shared after the match.
