Following Shenhua's 3-0 win over Henan and Taishan's 1-4 loss to Hainiu, along with Chongqing's 1-1 draw, the latest CSL standings are as follows.

On April 27th Beijing time, the 8th round of the Chinese Super League kicked off. Multiple matches ended last night: Qingdao Hainiu stunned Shandong Taishan 4-1, Shenzhen overcame newly-promoted Liaoning Tieren 1-0, newly-promoted Chongqing struck the post twice yet settled for a 1-1 draw with West Coast, Dalian fell 3-1 to Yunnan, and Henan, struggling, was beaten 0-3 by strong side Shenhua. Thus, the latest standings have been updated with Chengdu leading, Chongqing second, Shenhua fifth, and Shandong Taishan seventh!

Qingdao Hainiu versus Shandong Taishan. Qingdao Hainiu, ranked bottom this season with immense relegation pressure, had scored only four goals in seven games, highlighting their offensive struggles. However, in this round's Qilu Derby against Taishan, it unexpectedly became a one-sided affair. Hainiu went all out, unleashing a 4-1 onslaught against Shandong Taishan. This marks Hainiu's first victory over Taishan in 14 years. It seemed Taishan played with no fighting spirit or determination, increasing criticism towards Han Peng. With this win, Hainiu's points turned positive, easing relegation pressure and putting Tianjin back at the bottom.

Chongqing versus West Coast. Newly-promoted Chongqing has performed excellently this season, remaining unbeaten in seven rounds and holding second place, just behind title favorite Chengdu. This round's home match against draw specialist West Coast saw Chongqing's attacking power weakened due to the absence of forward Kenpanu, and West Coast scored first to take the lead. Chongqing hit the post twice in both halves but managed to equalize through Du Yuezi's goal. Ultimately, Chongqing drew 1-1 with West Coast, staying unbeaten in eight rounds and maintaining second place, though widening the gap from Chengdu.

Henan versus Shenhua. Despite a 10-point deduction this season, Shenhua has played remarkably well, maintaining an unbeaten record. This round against seasoned Henan, who has been struggling with multiple losses and relegation pressure mainly due to poor foreign player quality, Shenhua displayed sharp performance, dominating both offense and defense. They quickly created chances and opened the scoring with a penalty in the first half. In the second half, they seized momentum with a dream six-minute spell scoring two more goals, sweeping Henan 3-0. Shenhua remains unbeaten in eight rounds, securing five consecutive wins and climbing to fifth place.
