Real Madrid issues important announcement regarding Mbappe

Real Madrid confirms Kylian Mbappe has sustained a muscle injury, facing the possibility of missing the El Clasico clash with Barcelona, although hope for recovery persists.

Real Madrid has officially disclosed the injury status of Kylian Mbappe, as the French star risks missing the crucial El Clasico match against Barcelona.

According to the medical team's announcement, Mbappe has suffered a left leg semitendinosus muscle injury following detailed examinations. This type of muscle injury is not overly severe but requires close monitoring before a specific return date can be determined. Real Madrid also emphasized that the forward's condition will "depend on the recovery progress in the coming days."

Mbappe's injury occurred in the match against Real Betis, when he voluntarily requested to leave the pitch in the final minutes. Initially, ultrasound results provided positive signals, but the Royal club decided to conduct further checks to avoid risks during this critical phase of the season.

According to Spanish media, Mbappe will definitely miss the upcoming match against Espanyol. However, the primary goal of the medical staff is to ensure his recovery for the major clash with Barcelona on May 10th. With approximately two weeks for recovery, Mbappe's chances of playing remain, though not entirely certain.

The absence of the key striker would be a significant loss for Real Madrid, especially as they need a strong performance to maintain prestige against their arch-rival. Even though the La Liga title chances are slim, the El Clasico holds immense honor for the Bernabéu side.

Not only Real Madrid, but the French National Team is also closely monitoring Mbappe's situation ahead of the 2026 World Cup. After a breakout season with over 40 goals, this forward remains the top hope for Les Bleus in their quest to conquer the world. Currently, all attention is focused on Mbappe's recovery process. Whether he can return for the El Clasico will be the major question in the coming days.
