The Laos national team receives special assistance from a Vietnamese club ahead of the AFF Cup.

The Laos national team will hold a training camp at HAGL's Ham Rong Center for two weeks in preparation for the 2026 AFF Cup.

The Laos national team is entering an important preparation phase for the 2026 AFF Cup, determined to make their mark at the region's top tournament. To enhance their professional quality before the competition, the team from the Land of a Million Elephants will undergo a two-week training camp at HAGL's Ham Rong Training Center, one of Vietnam's leading modern football training facilities.

According to the plan, the Laos team will gather in Gia Lai from July 1 to 15. This is seen as a strategic preparation step as the coaching staff aims to take advantage of the comprehensive facilities, quality training fields, and professional environment that HAGL offers. The support from the "Mountain City" club is expected to help Lao players improve their fitness, tactics, and collective playing ability before entering the official tournament.

The 2026 AFF Cup is predicted to be a significant challenge for the Laos team as they are placed in Group B alongside strong opponents like Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, and Myanmar. Among these, Thailand and Malaysia are rated higher in terms of squad quality and international experience. Therefore, Laos needs thorough preparation if they want to spring a surprise at this year's tournament.

Although considered the team with the least chance in the group, Laos's coaching staff still aims to compete fairly and improve upon their past AFF Cup performances. Previously, Coach Vladica Grujic had earlier announced a list of 31 players to gather immediately after the 2026 Lao National League concluded.
