Manchester United's plan to offload Ugarte has been revealed! He has been recommended to AC Milan's new manager, Amorim, with hopes of selling him for £30 million.

Manchester United are looking to offload Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte this summer and hope to recoup a significant portion of the £42 million (€50 million) they paid Paris Saint-Germain for his acquisition in the 2024 summer transfer window. Nevertheless, the club acknowledges this is a tall order, so the highest bidder in the summer market will probably land the 24-year-old holding midfielder.

If a permanent transfer is not feasible, teams willing to pay a loan fee and cover Ugarte's £120,000-a-week wages will also be welcomed by Manchester United, ideally with a mandatory buyout clause to ensure the Red Devils can definitively part ways with Ugarte.

According to the British *Daily Mirror*, after Ruben Amorim took charge of AC Milan, Manchester United hopes he might consider signing Ugarte, a former player he coached at Sporting Lisbon. Although Amorim had also dropped Ugarte later during his tenure at Manchester United, the pace and style of Serie A differ from the Premier League and may suit Ugarte better.

Italian transfer journalist Nicolò Schira reports that Ugarte has indeed been recommended to AC Milan, but no negotiations on a transfer have taken place yet. It remains to be seen whether Amorim is willing to work with him again. During his over a year at Manchester United, Amorim criticized Ugarte's training and match attitude, noting it was not what it used to be when he played for Sporting Lisbon.

Amorim commented, "You can sense that many good players come to Manchester United and often face difficulties. Manuel (Ugarte) is currently going through a challenge, but our duty is to try our best to help him, making him feel the same way I experienced when he was a Sporting player. However, this is a different world, and he needs to adapt and improve, especially in training."

Ugarte started only 30 Premier League matches in two years at Manchester United. After the season-ending defeat to Leeds United, Carrick no longer used him and told the player to find a new club, as he was not part of Manchester United's long-term plans. Aware that he had no future at Old Trafford, Ugarte gave up on the season entirely and shifted his focus to preparing for the World Cup.

Ugarte has asked his agent, Jorge Mendes, to find him a new team. According to reports, Mendes has already opened talks with AC Milan regarding a possible transfer. It is rumored that Manchester United is asking for around £30 million for Ugarte. AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani is unwilling to accept this valuation, but both parties plan further negotiations in hopes of reaching a compromise.

A strong performance in the World Cup could help Ugarte attract buyers. In the opening match against Saudi Arabia, Ugarte started but delivered an average performance and was substituted early, with his team ultimately failing to secure a win. Around the hour mark, Ugarte's long-range shot created a threat but was saved by the goalkeeper and deflected off the post, leaving him holding his head in frustration. Uruguay will face Cape Verde next Sunday and play their final group match against Spain on June 27.

Manchester United hopes Ugarte will improve gradually to boost his value and market appeal. Earlier rumors suggested that Turkish club Galatasaray was also interested in him, but so far, there has been no progress. If Ugarte leaves, Manchester United may then look to bring in a new midfielder.

Amorim's favorite player at Manchester United was Mason Mount, but the English midfielder's £250,000-a-week wages are beyond AC Milan's budget, making any deal impossible.
