Haiti has returned to the World Cup finals after a 54-year wait. Their last appearance on the biggest stage was in 1974 in West Germany.

In their opening match, Haiti lost 0-1 to Scotland, significantly narrowing their path to advancement. If they suffer another defeat against Brazil, the CONCACAF representative will face the risk of early elimination. If Morocco also beats Scotland in the other Group C fixture, the Caribbean side will officially lose any chance of competing for a spot in the next round.

Against Scotland, Haiti demonstrated commendable fighting spirit. However, pulling off a surprise against a vastly superior opponent like Brazil is extremely difficult.

Brazil entered the 2026 World Cup as a top contender for the title. However, they suffered a bitter setback by dropping points against Morocco in their opener. The Selecao desperately need a victory in the second Group C match to restore confidence among their fans and keep their hopes of finishing top of the group alive. Coach Carlo Ancelotti's men aim not only for three points but also for a convincing performance.

Brazil has never failed to win both of their first two matches in a World Cup since the 1978 tournament in Argentina, where they drew both opening games.

Brazil still have a match against Scotland in the final round of the group stage, a team considered capable of causing difficulties. Therefore, a win against Haiti will not only improve their standing but also build positive momentum before that crucial encounter. If they drop points again, the pressure on the South American side will undoubtedly increase significantly.

Their performance against Morocco was far from satisfactory, and the yellow-green squad still has much to improve if they want to realize their ambition of winning a sixth World Cup title. What Brazilian fans now hope for is a clear improvement in their style of play, and the match against Haiti is seen as an opportunity for the Selecao to rediscover their scoring touch.

This encounter between the two teams is considered extremely one-sided. The disparity in squad quality, top-level experience, and squad depth is undeniable. The five-time world champions clearly have a superior lineup, with many stars playing in the world's top leagues. Meanwhile, Haiti primarily relies on fighting spirit, discipline, and focused defense.

Vinicius Junior scored the equalizer for the Selecao in their opening match. The Real Madrid forward remains the biggest hope in Brazil's attack. He is also in the best form among the forwards, having been directly involved in 4 goals (2 goals and 2 assists) in 5 World Cup appearances.

History is not on the side of the Caribbean representative. Haiti has lost all four of their World Cup matches, scoring only 2 goals while conceding 15.

This is the first time Brazil and Haiti have faced each other in a World Cup. Previously, they have met three times, with Brazil winning all three matches. The Selecao scored a total of 17 goals and conceded only once against the Caribbean side. Notably, their most recent meeting also took place on American soil, at the 2016 Copa America.

The match between Brazil and Haiti will take place at 7:30 AM on June 20. If they play to their full potential, the Selecao can achieve a convincing victory to put pressure on Scotland ahead of the final group-stage match.

Expected starting lineups for the two teams
Brazil: Alisson, Vanderson, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhaes, Guilherme Arana, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Paqueta, Raphinha, Matheus Cunha, Vinicius Junior
Haiti: Placide, Arcus, Ade, Duverne, Peguero, Leverton Pierre, Danley Jean Jacques; Nazon, Deedson Louicius, Mondy Prunier, Frantzdy Pierrot
