Manchester United to sign 14-year-old "Little Henry" who scored 45 goals! Left-back prodigy has requested to leave, Ten Hag's favorite faces potential sale.

Manchester United is pressing on with youth acquisitions this summer, with the 45-goal teenage sensation "Little Henry" poised to arrive. This 14-year-old prodigy shares no relation to the French icon Thierry Henry; his real name is indeed Blake Henry, born November 19, 2011.

Last season, Little Henry netted 45 goals for Derby County's youth team, drawing attention from clubs across England. Manchester United is negotiating his signing. He is an England U15 international, a "homegrown" player fitting the criteria of Red Devils owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. United leads the race, but Manchester City could yet hijack the deal.

At Derby County, Little Henry has already featured in the Premier League U18 competition, becoming one of the youngest players to do so—making his debut just a few months after turning 14. In lower age-group matches, he scored 45 goals, establishing himself as an outstanding marksman.

If Henry moves to Manchester United, Derby County would be entitled to compensation. The amount would depend on his age, time spent in Derby's academy, the club's assigned youth grade, and his development and training costs. Both clubs will first try to reach an agreement; failing that, the Professional Football Compensation Committee will decide the final fee, typically under £1 million.

Manchester United has always valued young players, but not everyone ultimately succeeds. One young talent is considering another loan move: English left-back Harry Amas wants more first-team experience, preferably as a starter in the Championship. The Red Devils haven't ruled out keeping him as backup for Luke Shaw, but if a new left-back is signed, Amas is likely to be allowed to leave.

In 2025, the 19-year-old Amas made his first-team debut under Ruben Amorim. However, last season he was loaned to the Championship, first to Sheffield Wednesday and then to Norwich City. Unfortunately, at Norwich he played only once before a serious hamstring injury ended his season.

Amas has one year left on his Manchester United contract, but the club holds an option to extend it by a further 12 months. Ideally, United wants to renew first and then approve a temporary departure. But Amas knows he needs regular first-team football to improve, and staying at United would likely mean only a substitute role.

The future of United's young midfielder Toby Collier is also a decision the club must make. He too was loaned twice to the Championship last season, both times cut short by injury. A calf problem kept him sidelined at West Brom in the first half, and an ankle injury ended his spell at Hull City prematurely.

The 22-year-old Collier still attracts interest from Hull City, who have been promoted to the Premier League via the playoffs. Manager Sérgio Jakirović wants him back, believing that with a full pre-season, Collier could play an important role in the Premier League.

In 2024, Collier—favored by former manager Erik ten Hag—signed a contract with Manchester United until 2027, with an option for an additional season. BBC Sport's Simon Stone reports that given the club's planned midfield reinforcements this summer, it would be no surprise if United approved a permanent transfer for Collier, whether to Hull or elsewhere.
