Arriving in Incheon (South Korea) on July 2, the Vietnamese squad has now entered a training period scheduled until July 14, focusing on their campaign to retain the ASEAN Cup 2026 championship.
After more than a week of conditioning and technical groundwork in Hanoi, Kim Sang Sik’s side moves into what is considered the most critical phase of their preparation. Favorable training conditions and the high quality of Korean opponents are expected to help the team improve fitness, refine their playing style, and evaluate personnel before the tournament kicks off.

The flight carrying coach Kim Sang Sik and his players touched down at Incheon International Airport at 16:35 local time. Entry procedures went smoothly thanks to close coordination between the Vietnam Football Federation and local organizers, who had prepared and agreed on the plan in advance.
In Incheon, the Vietnam team is staying at a hotel conveniently located for travel between accommodation and training grounds. Lodging and daily living conditions meet the standards set for national teams, providing the best environment for players to focus on training and matches.
According to the schedule, Vietnam will play three friendlies against increasingly strong opponents. Coach Kim Sang Sik’s men will face Siheung FC (July 5), Yongin FC (July 8), and Gangwon FC (July 13). These matches serve as important tests for the coaching staff to assess each player’s form and finalize the squad framework.

Among the squad traveling to South Korea are three players recovering from injuries: Do Duy Manh, Khuan Van Khang, and Le Ngoc Bao. All three will continue to receive close monitoring from the medical team, combining treatment and individualized training programs to get back to their best as soon as possible.
After the training camp ends, Vietnam will return home on July 14 before playing a friendly against Myanmar at Thai Nguyen Stadium on July 18. This will be the final dress rehearsal before the defending champions begin their title defense in the 2026 ASEAN Cup, starting with an away match against Timor Leste on July 24.
