The Vietnam national team began their first practice session in South Korea with great enthusiasm, marking the start of an important stage in their preparations for the ASEAN Cup 2026.

This afternoon, July 3rd, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players took to the field for training in Incheon after settling into their accommodation. The favorable weather conditions helped the players quickly adapt to the coaching staff's training regimen.

The training ground is about a 15-minute bus ride from the hotel. In the first session, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his assistants focused on professional drills, gradually increasing the training load and refining tactical requirements.

The training atmosphere of the Vietnam national team was lively. The players demonstrated high concentration and determination, as the training camp in South Korea is considered a vital phase of refinement before their journey to defend the Southeast Asian championship.

Before the training session, midfielder Nguyen Hai Long shared that the whole team is in good spirits and quickly adapted to the living and training conditions in South Korea. The players are all well aware of the training camp's goals and are striving to meet the coaching staff's requirements.

"I and my teammates don't feel any pressure. Everyone is trying their best to perform for the team's common goal. The competition will help the team become stronger," Hai Long shared.

During the training camp, the Vietnam national team will play three friendly matches against opponents of increasing difficulty, including Siheung FC from K.League 3, Yongin FC from K.League 2, and Gangwon FC currently competing in K.League 1.

According to the plan, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will have their first friendly match against Siheung FC on July 5th. This is an opportunity for the coaching staff to assess player fitness, adaptability, and test tactical schemes.

After the training camp in South Korea, the Vietnam national team will return home to continue their preparations. Coach Kim Sang Sik's squad is expected to have a friendly match with Myanmar before entering the ASEAN Cup 2026 and their journey to defend the regional championship. The scenery of flowers and the lake is highly captivating for visitors from all over.
