In a key match of the 17th round of the Chinese Super League ending on July 4th, Beijing Guo'an defeated Shandong Taishan 2-0 at home. In the first half, Zhang Yuning's goal was disallowed, Zheng Zheng was sent off with a straight red for a tackle on Fabio, and Huang Zhengyu's handball in the box went unpunished. In the 11th minute, Wang Dalei collided with Fabio while catching a cross, then Zhang Yuning fired home, but the referee ruled Fabio had fouled the goalkeeper first, disallowing the goal.

In the 20th minute, Fabio was tripped by Zheng Zheng at the edge of the box. Referee Shan Dan'ao showed a yellow card, but after VAR intervention, he reviewed the screen, overturned the yellow, and sent Zheng off with a straight red, leaving Taishan with 10 men for the remainder.

In the 74th minute, substitute Cao Yongjing laid the ball off, and Serjinho scored to make it 1-0 for Guo'an.
