Vietnam national team head coach Kim Sang Sik has finalized the training squad for the friendly match.

On the afternoon of July 4, the Vietnam national team proceeded with their training program in South Korea by holding a practice session to assess the team's strength in preparation for the initial friendly match against Siheung FC.

During this training session, Coach Kim Sang Sik divided the squad into two groups for full-field opposition drills. Notably, the South Korean manager mainly observed from the sidelines, monitoring the players' coordination, tactical organization, and individual form.

Through these opposition exercises, the coaching staff gained additional insights for personnel evaluation and selection of an appropriate lineup for the first friendly match. According to the plan, Vietnam will face Siheung FC tomorrow afternoon, July 5th. This club currently competes in K.League 3.

After the match against Siheung FC, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players will continue with two more friendlies against Yongin FC and Gangwon FC. The opponents are chosen with increasing difficulty, from K.League 3, K.League 2, to K.League 1, thereby helping Vietnam test their squad strength and playing style against different challenges.

One of the notable faces in this training camp is central defender Dinh Quang Kiet. The 19-year-old player from Hoang Anh Gia Lai is the youngest member of the team, and at 1m96, he is also the tallest player currently in the Vietnam national team.

Quang Kiet shared that regularly playing in V.League has helped him gain experience and earn a call-up to the national team. The young defender also affirmed that competition within the team is positive, as every player strives to secure a spot in the matchday squad.

"I am very grateful to the coaching staff of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club for giving me the opportunity to play many matches in V.League. Those games helped me accumulate experience and earned me a call-up to the national team by Coach Kim Sang Sik.

Everyone wants to be included in the matchday squad and contribute to the national team. Therefore, all players are giving their best in every training session.

This is my first time training with the Vietnam national team, so I am very happy and also quite surprised. This is a great opportunity for me to learn, reflect on myself, and look toward the future."

At 19 years old, Dinh Quang Kiet is the youngest player in this Vietnam national team squad. After a season of significant progress with Hoang Anh Gia Lai, the 1m96 tall center-back stated that training alongside experienced seniors is a precious chance to continue improving himself.

The training camp in South Korea is a crucial phase for Coach Kim Sang Sik to review the squad, finalize the lineup, and prepare for the upcoming objectives of the Vietnam national team.
